• Scheffelera

  •  ‘Lera’ is one of our last mares by Fabio. She was the first foal out of Morning Glory who proved to be a great broodmare in her own right. Lera was blessed with near perfect conformation and a beautiful and very feminine face which she passes on to her foals. She unfortunately suffered a career ending hock injury shortly after being started under saddle and so was never able to prove her mettle in the show ring. She is a solid mare with three very good gaits and a sweet and quiet demeanor. Her sire’s side traces to the great producer Ramiro and also the very solid F-line. The F-line Holsteiners were horses who were able to compete in any discipline making them ideal for the American amateur. On the dam’s side, Lera is closely related to Welt As who produced Anky van Grunsven’s 3 time Olympic partner Bonfire. Her dam’s side also traces top and bottom to Furioso II and Furioso who still shows up in the pedigrees of today’s top competitors. Lera is in the Main Mare book of the AHHA. She has produced some very nice foals for us and others and we look forward to what the future holds for her. She is ideally suited to producing dressage horses.

    Lera’s Progeny

    • Emma – by Conifer (Hol), this filly is a beautiful horse and a beautiful mover. She is just starting under saddle and will head towards a career in dressage.
    • Beaux Art – by Indian Art (Old), this young colt is sure to do great things. He is very painted and very beautiful. He will head towards a career in dressage when he is old enough.
    • Cottonwood - by Conifer (Hol), this colt is striking and leggy.  He was just shy of earning premium at his approvals and has been sold to a jumper barn in Mexico.

Update:  Lera has been sold to Blackwatch Stables.  We are very excited for this sweet mare to be able to make more beautiful babies for her new owners!
