Zephyr is the very last foal out of our matriarch Evening Primrose. She is by October Hill Farm’s Cascani who is by the great Cassini I. She is a lovely mover with loads of natural balance and freedom in the shoulder. There is international level jump on both sides of her pedigree and expect to see her offspring have the ability to be competitive in any discipline. She has only produced two foals to date and we are very happy with both. On the sire’s side, Cassini I needs no introduction. He was a world cup competitor himself and sire to multiple international and WEG competitors as well as Olympic medalists. Cassini sired many approved sons both in Germany and in the US and his presence is felt in many top pedigrees competing today. Interestingly, he also traces to the thoroughbred improvement sire, Marlon through the stallion Mahmud. Marlon is present in both the top and bottom of Cascani’s pedigree as well as the top of Evening Primrose’s pedigree. This gives Zephyr plenty of blood to be able to breed her to any stallion and produce something very athletic and competitive. She should be able to produce top horses in any discipline and her first foals seem to follow this. In addition to Marlon on the dam’s side she has the French blood of Furioso and Welt As. Furioso has been an important sire and producer of top horses in all disciplines. Welt As was the sire of Anky van Grunsven’s 3 time Olympic partner and medal winner Bonfire. Zephyr is in the Main Mare book of the AHHA and the ISR/Old-NA.
